On 28 June 2022 the Fair Work Commission handed down the national minimum wage (NMW) decision. It took effect on 1 July 2022 and applies to award/agreement free employees other than junior employees, an employee to whom a training arrangement applies and employees with a disability that affects the level of productivity required for their class of work and meet the impairment criteria to receive a Disability Support Pension. From 1 July 2022 onwards, the NMW is $21.38 per hour. This equates to $812.60 for a full-time employees (38 hours). Casual employees are entitled to receive a 25% loading on top of the NMW/award rate of pay.
