On 6 September 2019 Elizabeth Devine presented a paper on the topic of ‘Managing Workplace Conflict Effectively: Skills, Processes and Tips’ at a Legalwise Seminar in Sydney. The paper began with a discussion of a range of legal and other perspectives on workplace conflict, followed by an explanation of the four stages of organisational response to workplace conflict and a detailed examination of the key elements of best practice in managing workplace conflict, in particular the key role of conflict assessment and the broad spectrum of processes and options which are available to facilitate conflict resolution.
